Mangalyaan Model

Hi everybody,

a big hello to all. I know i have been missing from blogland for more than 3 months. April and May we had summer camp for kids where we did LOTS of projects. But for now am going to share one of my favorites. My daughter had a 'Speech with Property' competition last year and the property we chose was 'Mangalyaan'. And here is the model i did.

The model is based on the numerous photographs available and i have tried to replicate as much as possible. The blue squares are the solar panels. The central cube is designed to show the payloads and the propellant tank. And the large circle is the antenna.

I started off by making the central cube which is very much similar to an explosion box. I kept adding other elements by trial and error. A lot of recycled stuff like an empty pen without refill, half a gems box, box lid, etc has been used.

Wish cards !!!

Hi again...

I have never heard of wish cards till i was requested one recently. Its a pretty simple concept, a bundle of small cards for everyone to write wishes or one card each for a special memory from the same person.

I found an old heart shaped gift perfect to hold the wish cards, so with a cute pic of the bday gal and a few flowers it was complete. This simple project turned out prettier than i thought. Hope u liked it.

Happy monday folks, hope its crafty all through the week.

Box again

Hello all...

Am sharing an explosion box today, but forgive me for the bad pics, edited it as much as possible. I was in a hurry and dint notice that my kids had changed the settings...

I try to put something different in each box that i do. The flower "vase" u see here is recycled from liquid mosquito repellent container. Got this idea from one of Dr. Sonia's post some time back. Decorated it with washis and baker's twine. And filled it with Spiral flowers.

Love this metal addition, its from crafters corner.

Easel Card Again !

Hi friends

Good Morning. Its gonna be a quick post again. We ll be leaving to chennai for the weekend so giving a go in some challenges.

As u can see, for the rossette centre i have used a bottle cap. And for the Bingo challenge, I have chosen the last column (Acetate, paper clip & Wood)
Wood - Flower button in the bottle cap
    Paper clip - near sentiment
Acetate - I have used it as a stopper for the easel, isnt it cool?
I have used brads to hold the acetate, sentiment pp and the base together.

Happy Weekend people

Gift Box & Tag

Hello all...

Here is a gift box n tag i made for the current challenge at Crafters Corner.

I altered a Ipod box into a gift box. I just needed a reason to make a box for the challenge, so wen my daughter wanted a cute little box to put her crayons at school, i jumped at the chance. The coordinating tag will be used on her school bag or travel bag, both the box n the tag has her name on it. I soo wanted to use a pretty lil bow, but it will be inconvenient for her to handle. For such reasons i have kept the embellishments to a minimum. Here is another view.

As an after thought, there are so many things i could have done different. But thats the way it is, gotta keep improving at each attempt.

Supplies Used
PP - DCWV Girlhood paper stack
Blue Stripes Washi tape - LuLupu
Buttons - Locally bought
The butterfly n flowers on the tag - i have coloured it with sketch & added pearls
Golden handle on the Tag - from old marriage invite

ok, hope u all liked it. Do give me ur feedback
c u soon again
