Gesso BG + Digi Image

Hello there...

February is truly romantic in the blogland with reds & pinks. Loving the ideas everyone come up with. But i am truly in a different mode. Trying out new stuff and new techniques. Some particular idea hits you and u can never come out of it until satisfied.
So this time around it is Digital image & watercolours for me. When my limited supply of image stamps ran out, i have started trying watercolouring and pencil colouring on Digi images.

Ok here is my humble take on colouring Digi images. I have had many challenges. The main being "smearing & bleeding of printer ink". I still havnt overcome it, trying different methods. Hope something works out soon

Water coloured Digi Image

I have coloured the image with watercolour pencils. You can see the difference in the face... skin tones are the most sensitive to bleeding. It was just a trial at watercolouring but i cudnt waste the pic... so made it into a card.

BG
For the bg, i first applied gesso thru Hero Arts chevron stencil and let it air dry. I wanted to make a watercolour washed bg but Distress inks get too diluted and hence the light bg. Gesso resisted the DI and thus a beautiful bg.

Gesso+Stencil in BG

Finally mounted the image on the bg and accessorized it with pearls & ribbon. Sentiment stamped with versamark onyx ink. It really stamped well on gesso too.

So thats it today. Hope you liked it. Do comment on tips to avoid ink bleeding. Thank you

Trellis Card

Hello all,

Here is a quicky from me.
But b4 dat i wud like to thank Vithya for her RAK, she had sent me Hero Arts Shadow Inks. Thanks a lot Vithya. Soo sweet of u.

Back to the card, made it according to the sketch @ catchy challenges by Deepti.

This is my first try at trellis pattern, its come out good. Took the colours from BGC inspiration pic. All the flowers are hand cut and embossed. The small ones are punched. I have added a PP behind the window dat matches the colours. I distressed the edges of the card with faded jeans ink. Some pearls & lace, and a charm and my card was done. Here are a few close ups.

Also i dressed up the inside of the card, kept it simple though.

Thank u dear friends for ur support & inspiration. Makes me create more.

A lil stitching!

I have tried stitching for the first time on cards. It gives a nice look n also satisfaction of creation. This card is based on another card i saw on a blog. Am still learning how to use blogs, so ill embed the link to that card sometime soon. N now here is the card...

The large pink flower is a hand cut felt flower n i have used running stitch in its corner. It looks a little better IRL due to the dimension. Am jus starting my collection of stamps, so this sentiment is hand written. Not the best, i agree. This lil cutie was created for my sis-in-law's daughter who is off to boarding in ooty. She is crazy about pink and so this card is for her.

Hope u liked it, thanks for stopping by and do tell me if u like it.
bye bye

my first blog post

This is one of my favorites. i made this for my daughter's 1st bday. though it is not a recent one i thought id start off with something impressive. the 'dress' is made of layers of lace and embellished with half cut pearls.

We had a 'princess' themed party for her 1st bday. and i made lots of hand made items for it, so i guess some of my first few post will be based on it.

thanks for visiting my blog n do give ur comments
see ya
