Baby 1st Year LO

hello ppl,

The Indian weekend was busy with the festival of Pongal and Makar Sankaranthi, brushed with the colours of Earth and Nature. Family gatherings and get togethers had promised a happy picture. And so am a lil late for my post here.

Today am posting a fun baby LO. Its actually a customised photo frame for a friend of mine. Here are the pics,

I was asked to put up all 12 months' pic of the lil one in a single frame. And so i came up with this. I used Papericious baby chipboard set for this project. It goes well with any baby LO and it has many yummy designs and words. It simply made my job easy and perfect.

The name & numbers are cameo cut. It comes in useful at times like these.

Below are some close ups,

Banners & baby chipboard

Balloons & CUTE chipboard

polka dots & BUNDLE OF JOY chipboard

buttons, lace & diecuts

Framed LO

Here it is, all ready to be hung as a forever memory. And yes, the LO is a huge one. 15 x 15 inches. It was a gift for the lil ones' 1st birthday.

Hope you liked it. Thanks for dropping by.

A Vintage photo frame!!

Hello dear crafters,

This is my first post for march i guess. A bit lazy out there. Anyway on to my project,

Vintage style LO

I simply loved the outcome of this project. It was done in a wink, all that matters is the right placement and some lovely embellishments. Am not the kind of crafter who has a particular vision and does exactly like that. My outcome is different from what i started 100% of the time.

As you can see, the base pattern paper is recycled from various bits of left over papers, it gives a patched up feel. The words "dear grandfather" is cameo cut.

I always have extra TH tattered florals is white cs, so that wen ever i need it, i just distress it to the exact colours. So here i have a pop of yellow matching to the lil girls' dress.

To finish it off, glittered the flowers mildly and added a wooden button. Dont u love all those metal charms. They just make me soo happy.

Thanks for dropping by, do comment on ur fav style of crafting. Do check out my sidebar for Dr. Sonia's awesome Giveaway!!! Watte talented lady

Also am gonna link up to few challenges after a long while.

Photo Frame for set of Twin Boys!!

Hello and Wish u all a very happy Republic day

Its going to be short post today, jus trying to keep my lil blog alive :[]
Ok here is a photo frame made for a set of 1month old twin boys. So here i have tried to keep it all blue, cute and simple.

Am loving Chevron more and more and use it in almost all projects, such a versatile design it is. I have used a few layers at the bottom of the frame, other than that its pretty simple.

You must have notices it, yes i have used glossy accents on the centre frame of "my kids" and it simply pops and gives dimension. My glossy accents was in hibernation till now :[]

So hope you all loved this cute lil frame. See you all soon again, i do have a lil secret to share(publish).... hehe

Take care everyone!

A huge photo frame!!

Hello ppl...

Wish u all a very happy and prosperous New Year 2015!!

Here is my first post for the year... a photo frame. It measures 12 * 12 inches. And the frame is purely handmade including the base. Here are the pics

I have taken a red corrugated sheet for the base. The pretty yellow daisies are from TH tattered florals, i have done the centre with small brown crystals.

See this pretty wood veneer... loved it to bits. I bought it from Shailey Agarwal, Chennai. I had been waiting for a project to use it and this one seemed right. Just adorned it with small pretty flowers and leaves.
And some doiles and metal charms... and we are done

Here is the base i made, i used wooden cardboard used for packaging, and the stands are made from cardboards too. Gave it a finished look using washis and varnish.

I also made a box to go along with it, PP, laces, washis and ribbons for it. I loved how it turned out. Thats it for today. Hope you all liked it.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great year ahead.

Back with a bang!!

Hello everyone...

First of all, wish you all a Merry Christmas. Hope it was fun all over. Ok here is the story, i have been crafting regularly and crafting crazy most times but since am in a tight schedule, my blog has been compromised. Also usually i post according to few challenges alive out on our blogland and hence most projects of mine go on the waiting queue. I have decided to put a stop to that. I dont need to participate in any challenges, i just need to blog and keep it rocking and rolling. The satisfaction u get when going through the blog surely doesnt come the facebook page. So as the New Year comes by, here is my resolution to keep my blog active and to keep me satisfied.

Ok now coming to the imp part, here is one of my recent favorite. A photo frame

So how do you think it is? I love adding texture to flowers and here a layer of burlap is added in this Tattered florals flower. Also the charms are sitting on a layer of burlap heart. And this Love bird die, i bought it from Itsy bitsy wen i visited one of their physical stores in bangalore. And also i hope everyone is going crazy with the Christmas sale all over. I utilised this opportunity since i had my bday last week..... lucky me!!!!

Ok gals... hope you liked my frame and keep enjoying the holiday week. Catch u all real soon again. Till then bye

Anniversary Shadow Box

Hi people....

I made this Shadow box for our anniversary. This is my first one and love how it has turned out. Here are the pics

Shadow boxes have been on my 'to do' list for a long time and finally i did one for our own. Jus love how far u can customise here. Each box here contains a collectible with a story of its own..... the glass lady bugs, cycle, scooter charm, gel candle, dry flower, Eiffel tower, etc.

The '5' has been hand drawn and cut. I used a self embossed and patterned sheet for it. The cute ceramic couple doll has also been recycled. I have been hoarding it for a long time, it was too small to use but it was perfect for a shadow box.

Love the bird cage charm with the white birds... adorable right. The 'special moment' chipboard has been heat embossed with sparkling white powder and i have used prima marketing papers, love to get my hands on more prima products.

Hope you liked it guys. I have one more shadow box done with full black bg.... will upload it in next post. yaya.... am on a holiday in pondicherry..... blogging from a cozy Accord room. So expect more posts people.
Till then bye bye

'Special Moment' Photo Frame

Hello dear crafters....

Not being regular with posting on blog again. Pretty busy month!
Today am sharing a photo frame i did a couple of days ago. I started off hesistantly since i was lacking the crafting mojo, but in the end it came up to my satisfaction.

Metal charms have been a live saver for me. Just a lil addition here and there changes the whole look of the project and makes it grand. The big yellow flower is done with TH Tattered florals. I couldnt capture the 'Special moments' correctly. But i had just left it raw without any paint or heat embossing and i simply loved it.

The Polka dot pp is a digital download i bought for another particular project. Polka dots are always a beauty. Finally added few sequins randomly. And then a handmade box to hold the gift. Done!!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you liked the frame.
See you all soon

A quickie Photo frame

Hello everyone....

Today am sharing a photo frame i made recently. I whipped it up in barely 30min for one of my friends' birthday. Here is a look at it

Its a pretty quick and easy one as you can see. The shine you see on the flower is ModPodge. From the time i laid my hands on it, i have been using it for most projects. My main utility of ModPodge is i use it for water proofing and as a sealant.
Also if anyone knows a good source of ribbons and laces online, do suggest me. Local sources are not reliable and they run out pretty quickly.

Finally i would like to thank everyone who had linked up for the blog candy. The link will be closing in a couple of hours so those who havnt linked up, hurry. Click here for details

Thanks again for dropping by.

Vintage Photo Frame

Hi all

Here is my last minute entry for the Lulupu #35 Go 3D. Do u call dis vintage or shabby chic? i guess its got a lil of both. My try was in giving it more layers and also using mixed media.
The base is stamped with Hero Arts scripts stamp and i just went with the flow by adding elements here and there. Jus playing around with the embellishments here and ther consumed a lotta time.
Am simply in love with the 3D bird cage charm. I added the chain and the key it. Then the doily and lace wer distressed wid more than a couple of shades till i was satisfied.

The burlap near the doily and the net cloth covering the flourish jus hit me wen i was nearly finished. The big orange flower was actually how this frame was started. This flower is from one of the numerous from my last post. I jus glittered it with Fevicryl 3D. Love the result.

Finally coated the whole thing with Mod Podge, ya got it very recently and dis is my first project with the mod podge, soo love the matte finish. Do tell me ur views on my humble try at vintage.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for all the inspiration ppl.

Photo Frame for a BOY !

Hi crafty friends,
Here i hav a photo frame to share, it was a quick one. Wen it comes to boys all i remember is cars cars & cars. Thats because all the lil guys i know are unanimously Car-crazy. And so that became the theme of the project.
The pp, the lil cars and the words are all from the Boyhood stack (DCWV). The big red car is hand cut and the blue Badge on the top, cool right? i hav cut it out from blue felt sheet and hav stitched it in the corners, and added a red star shaped button to centre. For the flag the checkered design is stamped from 'Out & About' stamp from We r M. And thats a match stick at the base of the flag.

The 'road' is depicted wid corrugated sheet wid silver lines. Ribbon and buttons to finish it up. I loved the outcome.
Thanks for stopping by, hope u too liked it.

Regards

A girly Photo frame

Hello there.....

Here is a quick post before i call it a day.

I made this cute lil frame for my sis-in-law's daughter for her second bday. The initial idea was to decorate it with quilled flowers.... but somehow i was not satisfied with the outcome. Further motivated by the positive comments on my wedding layout, i decided to do the random placement thing here too. I delved into my hoarded stash of Itsy bitsy blooms. Once i decided this was it, everything fell into place pretty quickly.

I simply loved the outcome and ofcourse i got a lotta appreciation from all that it was a perfect bday gift. I have used a few of my newly acquired dies here (Cherry Lynn olive branch, Corner deco lace and spellbinders Fleur de lis Squares)

Thanks for dropping by here today... do post ur comments

My first Quilled photo frame

Hey again...

Here is my first quilled photo frame, i hav been wanting to make one for long time and finally its here.

I was pretty much satisfied with the outcome, trying to figure out the design is the hardest part, i spent a long time jus staring at the photo frame trying to bring it all together. I jus loved how the big red flower came out. Took a hell of time making it dimensional. Followed Pritesh's Tutorial of using paper cone.

Hope u all liked it
Hav a good day

Wedding Anniversary Cards

Hi bloggers...

Another month with fresh challenges. These challenges always gives a kick telling that time is up, month ending.... new month. Refreshing.
Anyway here are a couple of cards

I loved the other Gate fold i did soo much that i decided to do another one with variations. The trellis here is done using quilling strips, hardly 2 strips. The flowers n flourishes are from itsy bitsy. Its adorned with pearl centres.

This is another gate fold card with an extra flap for the photo. Framed it with washis again here.

Now to the other card

Made a double easel card here, with one panel for the photo and for the other panel, the customer wanted it to write personal phrases.

For the stopper for photo, i have used a sentiment and for the other panel i have used two wooden flower buttons.
Both the cards got a warm welcome. Happy about that.
Hope u too like it.

Quilled Fruits

Hello dear bloggers...

A very Happy Independence day to all, missing my good ole school days and the thrill of flag hoisting, chocolates, lil flags n the stories. I envy the lil kids now. Jus hoping that the Gen Next turn out to be patriotic too.
Anyways here is a card i made for the BGC challenges, it was long due to be posted...

Hope i have incorporated all the twists that was meant. For the window i hav added an OHP sheet infront of the hand written sentiment and a quilled spiral as a frame, do tell me how it is? The fruits... it is the first time am doing it, hope i hav done some justice atleast.

Dats it for now, hav a Happy Holiday

Home Sweet Home

Hey all

Its very late into the night. My lil girl's Bday is coming up and so i got busy with it. Here with a quick one tonight.

This is a craft for my daughter's school actually. They were studying about diff types of houses, so we had to make a photo frame in the shape of house, i decided to do it the quilling way.
The base is a card board taken from the box of my kids' play toys (Packaging material), i even made a stand from it. I submitted it long back to the school, else i wud have taken a side view photo for reference.
Thats it now guys...

PS. If anyone cud suggest a good photo editing freeware, it wud be really helpful. Thanks in advance. Do give feedback on my quilling too. Can i improve it further anyway?

Love

Easel cum Shaker Card !

Hello people...

Here is a card i made for my DH on his bday. I wanted to try the shaker card for a long time n thought this was the right moment. Here are the pics

Card lying flat

I soo badly wanted to add some pearls n stuff but resisted it for fear of turning it to a very feminine card. Jus distressed the scallop edges with water colour pencil. And for the shaker thing, i enjoyed doing it. Added some red punched hearts to it, it looks lovely, isnt it.  For the stopper i have added a wooden heart from a clothesline clip.

Card as an easel

Card as a photo frame

I added a thin threaded lace to the back to make a small hanging, now it can be used as a photo frame too (dint know where to hang the card, so hung it to the lamp switch for the photo).

Hope u liked my card, n i once again thank my blog friends for their appreciation & support.

PS. Am super happy, jus now saw the result for Catchy challenge, n am a winner for my sunburst layout. yaaaaayyy
Hugs,
Sujana
