Unicorn shaker card

Hello all,

Here is a quick post from me. Its a fun Unicorn shaker card. I actually wanted to do a slider card, but a shaker card was easier to finish for me. So do expect a slider card very soon.

Also Unicorns are my daughter's all time favourite. She is quite a reader and recently she has taken an immense liking to Linda Chapman's Unicorn School. So this card is for my lil darling girl.

Have a look at my unicorn,

The stamp set is from Avery elle 'Be a unicorn'. The images are gold embossed on watercolour paper and coloured with Distress inks.

I have used my new Pumice stone Distress inks for the frame and the sentiment. The sentiment is from Peekaboo designs. Below is a close of the unicorn. I have tried watercolouring with multicolours on the unicorn mane and tail.

Filled the shaker with silver sequins and red stars. Dont ask about this combo... jus went with my crafty gut feeling.

Thanks a lot for dropping by.
Bye bye guys
Bye Feb.

Baby Girl Explosion box

Hello friends,

I made this for my friend's new born daughter and loved how it turned out. In fact i have made my first craft video with this. Do check out the video link at the end of the post.

Here are the pics, (its picture heavy)

Loaded Box top

I have made my box top with a ceramic doll at the centre and surrounded by cute miniatures. The name is Silhouette cut and has a coat of glossy accents. Beads, lace, chipboard, etc

Close up of the ceramic doll

The flower is handmade with Tim Holtz tattered florals. I have heat embossed some white glitter on the flower. The white lace is glued with a glue gun. Also on the outside i have used fleur de lis squares as frames and chipboard elements. Chipboards are from Papericious & Itsy Bitsy.

handmade rose embellishment

At the centre is a handmade pram which can be used to hold chocolates and favours. The scallop hearts are thin cut dies from Itsy Bitsy.

Full reveal

Its a 3 layer explosion box with out layer panel measuring 4*4 inch, middle layer- 4*3.5 inch and inner layer - 4*3 inch

Linen Florals

Hello friends,

Here is another card today. I am so stuck to Distress inks and stamps. I hardly ever reach my pattern papers these days. Loving the change. Have a look at my card first,

Gold embossed flowers

This stamp set is from Mudra "Linen blooms", Beautiful set it is.
I have always wanted to make a bg like this, with washi tapes. And finally got the perfect focal point for such a card.

Close up of the Linen blooms

I stamped the flowers in watercolour sheet and heat embossed them in gold. Used DI to colour my flowers. Then fussy cut them and arranged in a bunch.

For the background, i have used Papericious ivory cardstock. I aligned the washi tapes in equal distance and sponged Pumice stone DI and a gradient pattern. Used peekaboo stitched rectangle die here.

Wanting to add more interest i added a frame die cut from spellbinders behind my bunch and it looked good. Tried few sequins but i wasnt satisfied and finally went with these black square stones.

I couldnt stop from posting so many pics, Anyway thanks for dropping by, hope you liked it.

Water Coloured Bookmarks

Hi there,

Continuing with my obsession with watercolours, here is a couple of bookmark i made. When ever i try out something new, in ends up as a card or bookmark. Same here, i have tried some bg colouring too.

The images are stamped directly on the water colour sheet and coloured with Distress inks. For the 1st bookmark with blue flowers, I stenciled with gesso to give some texture. Slightly coloured the gesso with vintage photo.

For the second one, it was stamped by my daughter. We have used Neon cubes for this bookmark. And again through chevron stencil, i loosely water coloured it. (learning on the go)

So thats it, some pretty water coloured bookmards. All stamps & sentiments are from mudra craft stamps. Loving it.

There's no one like You

Hi crafty heads,

Am soo excited to share this card today. take a look

Here is another card i coloured with my kids Faber Castell colour pencils. The image is a free digi from the net. I applied a layer of Mod-podge for the glossy look. But the most exciting part for me is the bg. I recently bought a pumice stone DI and i love it. Still trying out different possibilities with it.

After blending in worn lipstick & pumice stone i splashed some water drops and heat dried it. The sentiment is heat embossed. The card front and base are cut from Peekaboo stitched rectangles.

Oh i love clicking photos with props. And i love the girl's pose. Soo lovely.
Thanks for dropping by today.
PS..Am planning to buy some Artist colour pencils (not water colour pencils though), can anyone suggest the best.

xoxo

Gesso BG + Digi Image

Hello there...

February is truly romantic in the blogland with reds & pinks. Loving the ideas everyone come up with. But i am truly in a different mode. Trying out new stuff and new techniques. Some particular idea hits you and u can never come out of it until satisfied.
So this time around it is Digital image & watercolours for me. When my limited supply of image stamps ran out, i have started trying watercolouring and pencil colouring on Digi images.

Ok here is my humble take on colouring Digi images. I have had many challenges. The main being "smearing & bleeding of printer ink". I still havnt overcome it, trying different methods. Hope something works out soon

Water coloured Digi Image

I have coloured the image with watercolour pencils. You can see the difference in the face... skin tones are the most sensitive to bleeding. It was just a trial at watercolouring but i cudnt waste the pic... so made it into a card.

BG
For the bg, i first applied gesso thru Hero Arts chevron stencil and let it air dry. I wanted to make a watercolour washed bg but Distress inks get too diluted and hence the light bg. Gesso resisted the DI and thus a beautiful bg.

Gesso+Stencil in BG

Finally mounted the image on the bg and accessorized it with pearls & ribbon. Sentiment stamped with versamark onyx ink. It really stamped well on gesso too.

So thats it today. Hope you liked it. Do comment on tips to avoid ink bleeding. Thank you

Easy Spider-man theme Birthday invites

Hello all,

Wish you all a happy & love filled February. Am gonna start this month by posting an old project. It was for my son's 3rd birthday and now he is nearly 5.
Here is the card

It is basically a printed card. But i just wanted it to have a handmade touch. So i printed out some spiderman masks and cut it. Then added some twine and poped the spiderman mask with foam dots. Simple, easy & handmade. I have another invite based on the same model but for a little girl. You can check out the card here.

For the envelope, which is from my local stationery shop, i customised it by added two strips of matching washi tapes. Glad my hoarded washis came in use.

Below is the handmade backdrop i made. It added to my son's joys. Simple & customised.

Ok thats it for today. Thanks for dropping by.
