A girly Photo frame

Hello there.....

Here is a quick post before i call it a day.

I made this cute lil frame for my sis-in-law's daughter for her second bday. The initial idea was to decorate it with quilled flowers.... but somehow i was not satisfied with the outcome. Further motivated by the positive comments on my wedding layout, i decided to do the random placement thing here too. I delved into my hoarded stash of Itsy bitsy blooms. Once i decided this was it, everything fell into place pretty quickly.

I simply loved the outcome and ofcourse i got a lotta appreciation from all that it was a perfect bday gift. I have used a few of my newly acquired dies here (Cherry Lynn olive branch, Corner deco lace and spellbinders Fleur de lis Squares)

Thanks for dropping by here today... do post ur comments

Vegetable Printing for Kids

Hello again...

This post is about a vegetable printing project that we, (me & my daughter) practiced for a competition.
She was pretty good with it and i went on adding more vegetables as she mastered the work. And this was the final look just before the competition. She won the 2nd prize for this.

Vegetable Printing for Kids

This is just one of the practices she had a few days before the D day. Here she has used 9 diff veggies. Here is the list

Tree - Drumstick
Tree trunk - Vertically cut ladies finger
Grass - Broccoli
Lady bud - Small Potato & carrot tip for the dots
Butterfly - Single heart carved into a Potato.
Flowers - Horizontally cut ladies finger
Sun - Big Bitter gourd
Rainbow - 5 pieces of watermelon (one for each colour)

She is just 3.5 and i was really proud that she cud do dis relatively complicated piece of veg printing for her age. Thanks for hopping by here and showing some love

Humpty Dumpty Fancy dress Costume

Hi all

Today am sharing a humpty dumpty costume made at home. It was for my lil girl who participated in an inter-school competition. Here is the pic

Here are a few tidbits on how i made this
- The base is double layered packaging cardboard box
- Instead of pasting the humpty with the wall.... i hav secured both the pieces with a cloth belt, so that if needed later i can reuse the humpty alone without the wall.
- I hav added black socks and baby booties for the 'leg'
- Also i added broad ropes to secure it with her at two places, behind the neck and at the waist.

All my hoarded handmade sheets came to my rescue. For the wall, the base is a white sheet on which i hav placed the hand cut red rectangles. A bow, buttons, hat and feathers to complete it. Hope this helps some mom in need for fancy dress ideas

Thanks for dropping by today. Have a great day ahead

Wedding Layout

Hello ppl...

Thank you soo much for ur lovely comments on the graduation theme explosion box. Today i have something new to post..... actually its the arrangement dat is new for me.... random placement. Here are the pics

Framed layout (sorry its not at the right angel)

Picture before framing

The initial request was based on the nuptial knot of the pattu saree & pattu veshti... I guess most Indians are aware of dis. So i used scrap cloths for it.... the red cloth is from a fancy bag and the white from a cloth given in temple. I was rather difficult to place the cloths in the required position correctly.... Lotta patience ther. I hav done neat placements of photos & flowers in my layouts till now..... but this one required somthing diff......... so i jus kept shuffling the stuff around and finally i liked this.

Close up quilled flowers
The background paper is a beautiful golden one with stitching & sequins... its a local buy. I hav used Vintage photo, Mustard seed and peeled paint DI for the sentiment Sheet. The red fringed flower is actually a scrap... it was a defect piece... its actually a double fringed flower done the wrong way.... but i decided to save it and here it goes

Another close up
Jus loved the key embellishment & the bird cage, The bird is heat embossed in white sparkling powder.

Hope u liked it.... and am also hoping to improve in random placement, love it. Thanks for dropping by.

Graduation themed Explosion box

Hi friends...

Today am sharing an explosion box based on graduation themed. My friend's brother was going to the US for higher education and so she wanted it based on graduation.... so here is my take on that

Graduation cap based box

I loved the colour combo of blue & black for this. The tassel is recycled from an old wedding invite. i hav nailed it down with a brad.

The explosion

Here the centre is a flower pot.... the pot is actually a 'good night' mosquito repellent bottle. Wrapped it up wid washi tape. The flowers i got it in a local market... added blue pollens and a sentiment as touch ups. I hav used 'Fleur di lis' squares for the sentiments. For the other two panels, one has a white card stock rolled up with satin ribbon to represent a degree, this is an old scrap which and a had ink marks on one side, so i hav recycled it here. And the other panel has a badge, the rossette of which was made wid scrap pp... its a very small rossette as u can see. Hope it all does justice to the graduation theme. Do share ur views crafters.

Top view
Sorry forgot to take pics of the second layer here.... 2 panels have tags for personal msg, 1 had inspiring sticker words and the other a quote 'Chase ur dreams'

Thanks for stopping by and for ur encouraging words everytime

Origami Shirt card

Good morning there....

Hope all South Indians had a "happy pongal" ..... " Makkar Sankaranti".
Today am posting an origami shirt card.... i had long wanted to do one. So here it goes. Perfect to gift a guy.

Its a pretty simple card..... folded the shirt from an A4 sheet and distressed the edges with vintage photo. Actually loved this combo of pattern papers for BG and the shirt. Dont u think it looks perfect together. And i was also told that the guy for whom it was intended jus loved "louis Phillip" shirts.... and so u can see a replica of that logo on the shirt pocket.

This is the inside of the card..... and the pocket here holds another card with photos.

Hope u like it gals. Thanks for dropping by here. Hav a great day
