Cup cake Tri Shutter card

Hello friends....

Here is a special card from me. I made this card for a card making competition in our local. The theme had to be birthday cake or cup cake, i choose the second. This card won the creativity award (won a wrist watch). This is the card...

Card Lying Flat

Front View

The Cup cake is handmade, used moon rock sheet & corrugated sheet, topped it with button n pearls & finished it with a pink twine. Also used a lotta buttons for embellishing, i coloured the flower buttons pink, the smaller cup cake is a sticker. Used some foam balloons from Itsy Bitsy

See the sentiment? I traced it and used a calligraphy pen to write? Gosh, took a long time but am happy with it. Writing this took soo long that i simply wrote the other sentiment 'cuppy cake wishes' with a marker.

Home Sweet Home

Hey all

Its very late into the night. My lil girl's Bday is coming up and so i got busy with it. Here with a quick one tonight.

This is a craft for my daughter's school actually. They were studying about diff types of houses, so we had to make a photo frame in the shape of house, i decided to do it the quilling way.
The base is a card board taken from the box of my kids' play toys (Packaging material), i even made a stand from it. I submitted it long back to the school, else i wud have taken a side view photo for reference.
Thats it now guys...

PS. If anyone cud suggest a good photo editing freeware, it wud be really helpful. Thanks in advance. Do give feedback on my quilling too. Can i improve it further anyway?

Love

Butterflies !!!

 Hello crafters

Hope u r all having a great weekend. I hav made a CAS card after a long time, but tried out new techniques (new to me). Hav a look, then ull know

Tried stamping with Hero Arts Shadow inks (thanks a lot Vithya for the RAK), isnt the background gorgeous. Used the green fields ink. The PP is from Vintage blend stack (DCVW). I distressed it with vintage photo, stamped the butterflies randomly with green ink, the happy birthday sentiment with soft pool (blue) and then distredded again. (i literally turned the green PP into brown :0

And now the gorgeous butterfly in the focus...... i stamped it separately, coloured it with water colours n applied camel sparkle with my finger to give a uniform light coat. Loved the result, then i fussy cut it. Here is the close-up. The glitters have caught the sunlight. Added some bakers' twine & dats it.

Also i dressed up the inside of the card too. Stamped the butterflies randomly. This card is for my sister, she love green, but in my process i turned the card brown based, but the focal point (butterfly) is still green.

Thanks for stopping by...

Journaling with Washi tapes

Hello Bloggy friends.....

I had a hard couple of days with ma internet down, cudnt really do anything with ma phone. Only at times like des i understand how much i depend on the internet. Anyways happy now as i got to visit some of my bloggy friends' blogs n other referral stuff.
So here to post my lastest LO in my  son's Scrapbook. I really like these challenges, its made our personal stuff like cards & scrapbook look much much better. Take a look @ dis

I went crazy with my newly acquired washis from priya's store. Can u see all the journaling i have done on the washi tapes. I jus loved it.
I used the theme from Beyond Grey (the sky is the limit) and the LO sketch is from PPS.

Since i hav used soo many washi tapes i wanted dis to be somehow eligible for the challenge @ Color Conceptions, So i started digging out my trash and can u guess wat i came up with? Buttons from my lil girls' old frocks!!! I always save her pretty dresses jus bcas i know its too pretty to trash it or use it as a waste cloth. All the buttons (except the large orange one is up-cycled)

The white PP with stars..... i coloured few stars randomly to make it pop. The sentiment is hand written, isnt it very apt to the theme. The die-cut is again from priya's store. My parcel arrived the very next day of me ordering it. Very prompt.

Though the theme here is stars, i guess the washis stole the show (ofcourse after my lil guy's pics, they come 1st). I thoroughly enjoyed making this layout. Hope u too enjoyed taking a look. Do tell me if its good.

It's a Boy

Good morning all....

Its monday morning and i wish u all a very happy week ahead. Here is a pram card i have been meaning to post dis weekend but cudnt. I made it for my sis-in-law who has a brand new baby boy.  Here are the pics...

It was a very easy one to do. Nothing to explain. The Pattern paper used is 'boy stripe' from DCWV. I took a semi circle and fan folded it. The sentiment is handwritten. Buttons are from IB.

That's it ladies. Have a great day

Flower Pot Card !!

Hello to all my dear crafty friends.....

Its really good to c all ur comments, thanks a lot. Today am posting a Flower pot card, this one is a long long awaited one for me. Actually its for my mom....... long before Mother's day i decided i wanted to do a flower pot card for her but some how i wasnt able to do it, then came her bday, which i again missed because i dint want anything else other than a flower pot card. I guess some things jus have to wait for the right time. So here's a card especially for her, 'Thanks a bunch Mom, for all that u ever do'.
Ok enough of my blah blah blah.... here are the pics,

Yes, this is the double fringed flower from Pritesh's video tutorial, u can find it here. I kept doing it again n again, its soo beautiful isnt it? Its the best flower i have made so far. Here is a close-up of the flowers.

Here is the open card, I had problems placing the flowers, its soo delicate n dimensional too, u jus have to handle it carefully, so i jus placed the leaves to cover the white areas. Love the PP, gives a real flower pot look.

Here's a side view, cud'nt get enough fotos, kept shooting it. Everything is handcut in dis card, the scallop egdes in the pot, the sentiment label & the sentiment is hand written, hope u wud have guessed, coz it was real tough to write in such a small area.

Supplies used
CS - locally bought
PP - Vintage blend stack (DCVW) from Itsy Bitsy
Quilling stripes - Handcut (11/2 inch for flowers)
Ribbon - Stash

Do tell me how the flowers have turned out & my first attempt @ flower pot card. catch u again real soon.
Hugs

Trellis Card

Hello all,

Here is a quicky from me.
But b4 dat i wud like to thank Vithya for her RAK, she had sent me Hero Arts Shadow Inks. Thanks a lot Vithya. Soo sweet of u.

Back to the card, made it according to the sketch @ catchy challenges by Deepti.

This is my first try at trellis pattern, its come out good. Took the colours from BGC inspiration pic. All the flowers are hand cut and embossed. The small ones are punched. I have added a PP behind the window dat matches the colours. I distressed the edges of the card with faded jeans ink. Some pearls & lace, and a charm and my card was done. Here are a few close ups.

Also i dressed up the inside of the card, kept it simple though.

Thank u dear friends for ur support & inspiration. Makes me create more.

Green & Yellow

Hi friends,

Here to post a card i made according to the Retro Sketch. I dont usually follow any sketch, but decided to give it a try. Also took the colours from Dynamic Duos, green n yellow.

Decided to use PP scraps, it was real fun doing the sketch and the card was completed in no time. The roses are from an old flower vase. I have been hoarding it for nearly 4 yrs. Good that it has come of use.

Do tell me ur views dear friends. See you soon with another card, till then happy crafting.

Double Easel Card!

Hello Friends

Today am posting a double easel card, i was jus trying out the new technique but it has come out quite nice(i believe so). Am hooked to Easel cards these days, its jus that becomes something more than a card when opened. Also i hav my new quilled flowers to decorate the cards i make.

The Card lying flat

The Easel card

The top view

Close up of the flower

Guess the card is self explanatory, i have used the sentiment as a stopper. I stamped the sentiment on a white CS in red ink and coloured it with orange colour pencil to match the colours. And guess wat i got my new Martha Stewart score board from Anandha Stationary wen i went to chennai and life s more easy with it, no more messing around with rulers.

Hope you liked my card buddies, if ther s any place i link this card specifically(like colour scheme, type) do suggest me. Thank u in advance

Easel cum Shaker Card !

Hello people...

Here is a card i made for my DH on his bday. I wanted to try the shaker card for a long time n thought this was the right moment. Here are the pics

Card lying flat

I soo badly wanted to add some pearls n stuff but resisted it for fear of turning it to a very feminine card. Jus distressed the scallop edges with water colour pencil. And for the shaker thing, i enjoyed doing it. Added some red punched hearts to it, it looks lovely, isnt it.  For the stopper i have added a wooden heart from a clothesline clip.

Card as an easel

Card as a photo frame

I added a thin threaded lace to the back to make a small hanging, now it can be used as a photo frame too (dint know where to hang the card, so hung it to the lamp switch for the photo).

Hope u liked my card, n i once again thank my blog friends for their appreciation & support.

PS. Am super happy, jus now saw the result for Catchy challenge, n am a winner for my sunburst layout. yaaaaayyy
Hugs,
Sujana
