Mini Note Cards

Hello again...

Its my turn to post some mini cards. I was awestruck by the mini cards all u people posted, like how could they work on such a small space. Kept thinking & thinking, thats y mine took a long time to post.
I did 3 minis, the common in all is that i used Distress Inks...

For the first one, the back ground is done with DI and splashing water(with toothbrush). Loved the water wash effect and bright co;our. Added some burlap and twine for interest.

I loved making this one, i had this black hearts vellum (DCWV) and wanted to put it to use. I have coloured the lil hearts with DI using an earbud. Actually was inspired by a tute on IBS (colouring on vellum using Q tip). Also i have used paper piercing here. See the glittery hearts? I have paper pierced thos. Took a long time.

For this i stamped the small flowers first with Versamark and directly applied DI(peeled paint). I dint heat emboss it, it is jus that i was trying out few diff things and seeing the result. Added some sequins & rik rak.

Hope u liked it, do tell me ur views friends. Hav a great sunday. bye bye

Box again

Hello all...

Am sharing an explosion box today, but forgive me for the bad pics, edited it as much as possible. I was in a hurry and dint notice that my kids had changed the settings...

I try to put something different in each box that i do. The flower "vase" u see here is recycled from liquid mosquito repellent container. Got this idea from one of Dr. Sonia's post some time back. Decorated it with washis and baker's twine. And filled it with Spiral flowers.

Love this metal addition, its from crafters corner.

Sorry for the background, its my kids' work bench, so its full of pencil & crayon marks.

Ganesha

Hi crafters...

Here is something different from cards & paper crafting. For the Artsy Craftsy Mom Sep challenge- Ganesha, i wanted to do a quilled Ganesha, but i dint get adequate time. So sharing with you all a Ganesha painting i did a really long time ago.
I attended a Tanjore painting class long back before marriage. You all know Tanjore painting materials are very costly including the Gold foil, stones ets. I followed the same steps except dat i used wat i had at home.
First let me show the pics

The framed Ganesha

The close-up of Ganesha

Close-up of the frame

Steps followed
1. The base is canvas board
2. I traced the Ganesha picture from a story book and drew the frame myself
3. For the embossed look on the frame, jewels and dress- mix chalk powder(2/3) & fevicol(1/3)
4. Apply the mixture with a lil spatula or spoon
5. Let it dry.
6. Stick the stones, i used the ordinary stones available at local stores, not the kundan ones.
7. Next use a mehandi like cone and fill the same mixture and do all the detailing on the frame & jewels.
8. Now comes the painting part, used acrylic paint for this.

Am not very good at painting, but i loved my Ganesha very much since it was full n full my own effort. Also this is very easy for anyone who is even okay at painting.

Do share ur comments on how do u think this is.

With soo many new moms & babies around i decided to make 3 instead of one. Everything is handcut, the onesie shape, the scallops,etc... The first one took a real long time, then i used the same template to do the rest. Isnt it cute?

Last moments..

hi guys

Finally back to my blog after a long time. Since i started taking orders, many requests for Explosion boxes, so here to share one of those for few challenges

The colours specified were purple n white, so thats wat i started with. Love making rosettes, very easy to do with a scoring board. Love the Ric Rak too

Instead of putting layers i decided to do it differently this time, was happy with the effort. In the centre is a gift box wer the gift will be placed. Topped the box with spiral roses. Below is another view of the box

Now here is my first humble take on heat embossing. Do tell ur views crafters.

Started off with a white CS, Stamped Hero arts background script stamp with versamark and clear embossed it with my new heat tool.
Distressed with faded jeans n vintage photo.
Now for the colouring part, stamped Hero arts wood mounted daisy with mustard seed DI and coloured it with Faber Castell Bi Colour pencils.
Arranged the flower along with twine n satin ribbons.
Stamped the sentiment with versafine

PS. Thanks Priya for the quick delivery of items. Love the service

Gifting LOVE

Hello lovely people....

Rain is finally here and wat beautiful sight & smell, loving it.
Here to post another Explosion Box i made for my bro-in-law's marriage. He wanted to gift the ring in this box and so i made it accordingly.
(Took the photos in a hurry, sorry for the bad pics...)

Look at that gorgeous bow, thanks God i got it right.

It is a 2 layer exploding box actually( but looks like one in the photo). The small box in the centre will hold the rings. I have embellished it with glitter PP and stones. Love the look. Will try to get pics of the box holding the rings from the marriage photos
Below are the panels in the second layer, added some words to the photos and 'pinned' it with paper clips.

Hope u liked it guys, do give ur thoughts on this.

PS. Jus now saw the Itsy Bitsy results, guess wat, am the WINNER. Jus cant believe it. HOORAY

Wedding Anniversary Cards

Hi bloggers...

Another month with fresh challenges. These challenges always gives a kick telling that time is up, month ending.... new month. Refreshing.
Anyway here are a couple of cards

I loved the other Gate fold i did soo much that i decided to do another one with variations. The trellis here is done using quilling strips, hardly 2 strips. The flowers n flourishes are from itsy bitsy. Its adorned with pearl centres.

This is another gate fold card with an extra flap for the photo. Framed it with washis again here.

Now to the other card

Made a double easel card here, with one panel for the photo and for the other panel, the customer wanted it to write personal phrases.

For the stopper for photo, i have used a sentiment and for the other panel i have used two wooden flower buttons.
Both the cards got a warm welcome. Happy about that.
Hope u too like it.
